By participating in Travel Smart Rewards, you will earn points for all the trips you make on the MRT and LRT systems, with triple points for the morning off-peak trips. Use your Travel Smart Rewards points to win cash rewards on the Travel Smart Rewards website. The cash rewards will be transferred each month to your Cepas card.

  1. Click on the Join button above to request to participate.
  2. Fill in your name, email and Cepas card number along with some demographic information. Only commuters with the below Cepas cards are eligible to participate in the program
    • Adult EZ-Link cards
    • Adult NETS Flashpay cards
    • University, Polytechnic and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) concession cards
    • Senior Citizen concession cards
  3. Your commute history will be reviewed by the Travel Smart Rewards system through an automated process that may take up to one week. Preference will be given to participants who usually take public transit during peak commute times. You will receive an email notification if you are selected to participate.

You earn points by taking train trips using the CEPAS card registered in Travel Smart Rewards. You will automatically earn 1 point for every 1 kilometre travelled on the train all day Monday through Friday, weekends don't count. Designated decongesting hours earn extra points - see table below! You can earn 3, 4, 5 or 6 points per kilometre in decongesting hours if you are Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum!

Several Singaporean companies have joined up with Travel Smart Rewards, to offer their employees extra rewards. Instead of 3×, 4×, 5×, 6× in the table above, you'll earn 5×, 6×, 7×, 8× points per km for decongesting trips.

Please contact your company's HR department to find out if your company has joined up with Travel Smart Rewards.

If you are already an Travel Smart Rewards member and you use your company email address to log in to Travel Smart Rewards, then you will be able to join your company's scheme. Click on Settings in the top right, go to the section labelled Corporate Travel Smart Rewards Scheme, and click on your company name.

When you join Travel Smart Rewards, you are agreeing to share a limited amount of your past and present commute history, specifically, just the time and distance of your trips. Information on station locations will not be used.

The Travel Smart Rewards study will only use your commute data in aggregate. For example, the data will be used to answer questions such as: What fraction of participants are commuting between the hours of 7:30am and 8:30am? How many peak-time commuters are enrolled? etc.

Travel Smart Rewards encourages participants to shift their commute schedules on the Singapore rail system away from overcrowded peak times. The more commuters participate in Travel Smart Rewards, the more opportunities they will have to receive random rewards. Travel Smart Rewards aims to reduce crowded trains by distributing the load, resulting in a more efficient use of Singapore's transportation resources, a win-win for commuters and for the environment!
